Introduction to Group Projects - New Product Campaign

 

Objective:  

Students will work in teams of two to creatively design the promotional campaign of a new fictitious product.  We will start by each of you meeting your team partner & learning about your new fictitious product. In the next few weeks each team will be planning & designing a proposed advertising campaign for your company's new product line... everything from logo mark, packaging, to print & digital medias in advertising.   Each design team will pitch their campaign to their Stony Brook Foods company with the winner to be determined by a panel of CEO's.

Product Details:  

The Food and Drug Administration reports bottled water is the second most purchased type of drink in the United States. Vitamin water falls into the bottled water category. As more Americans embark on a healthy lifestyle, there is an increased interest in health drinks such as vitamin water.

 

VIM (or Vim) is a new line of vitamin infused mineral water... that is fortified with children’s needed vitamins & minerals.  It’s an excellent source of C & B vitamins – 100% vitamin C, 100% vitamins B5, B6 & B12 as well as Vitamins A & E, Zinc.  Vim also is an excellent source for electrolytes.  The target audience is 2 to 10-year-old children, however parents hold the buying power.

Each team will need to decide & promote a minimum of 4 flavors with selected unique & creative names. Your team may choose to include a character to help promote your vitamin infused mineral water to their target audience.

Remember to consider all packaging details & essentials.

Project:

Remember once your team has been announced, you will ALL need to focus on accountability, responsibility, delegating & sharing work to be done & watch your lateness & attendance issues. There will be several “evaluation checks” as we move through the project, be sure to consistently brief your partner on what each other are working on. Practice good communication skills. Work through thumbnails & roughs together. Creativity will be scored base on the creative process - thumbnails, roughs & comps.
