Sporting Equipment - Outdoor and Studio Product Photography
For this rotation, you will be photographing sporting equipment of your choice and creating an advertisement for a Sporting Goods Store (ie Dick's, Sporting Authority, REI, etc). Research the different products located at each store and choice the accessory you will be most interested in advertising. Your sports equipment will be photographed with and without a model from school, the model may be someone from COA class but we recommend finding a model outside of our class.
You will also take additional pictures of just your accessory in the product studios utilizing good lighting without your model. You will create thumbnails (6+) for your advertisement to utilize while photographing your accessory before photographing your model and product.
Competency: #801- Operate digital camera and accessories, #802- Compose a photograph through the lens & #803- Demonstrate use of lighting.
Project: The key to a strong product shoot is PLANNING! You will be responsible for coming up with a theme and headlines. Think about your product, your model, your props, your color scheme, your lighting, your angle of the camera… Remember your target audience is OPEN and up to you. This leaves your design OPEN for creativity!
