Utilizing Cornell Notes with class lecture & demonstration of Adobe InDesign, the student will first create 2 abstract designs showing their use of each tool reviewed. Next the student will reproduce the fundraiser poster provided to them with concern for accuracy in both typography & measurement. Lastly the student will creatively design their own SkillsUSA poster as a Live Job to include all of the content provided, all to the criteria detailed in the PDF.

For this assignment, you will demonstrate your understanding of the first 2 steps in the Creative Process.

First find THREE magazine advertisements you think are strong.

Tape each advertisement to a different page in your sketchbook

Create a Thumbnail sketch and a Rough of each advertisement.

Remember a thumbnail sketch should be a small, quick sketch indicating only the main ideas.

Your rough should be actual size and though body copy can be ‘indicated’, all essential info should be detailed appropriately.

Remember a Rough should also indicate color.
